The course "Myofascial pain and dysfunction: assessment and therapy: Level A" (formerly called "Global trigger point therapy") is a practical course focusing on myofascial pain caused by muscle and fascia pathologies. Trigger points are the main cause of myofascial pain.

The main topics of the course are:

  • kinesiological and biomechanical evaluation of the patient (myofascial chains);
  • differential diagnostics;
  • myofascial pain, its causes; the mechanism of trigger point muscle “chains” reactions and their formation; trigger point pain and associated joint blockages; characteristic pain of the patient; functional changes caused by trigger points.
  • Practical part: muscle relaxation techniques (based on muscle-fascia “chains”) using the principles of global reciprocal inhibition, PIR according to K. Lewit, AEK (agonic eccentric contraction) technique according to Brugger.
